Repeat Prescriptions

Your Doctor may authorise a specified number of prescription items to be repeated without having to see you. When ordering a repeat prescription, you are required to allow two working days notice before collection.  A review of your medication, however, is necessary from time to time and you may be asked to see a Doctor or Nurse before your next issue. 

Please note: With effect from 1st August 2021, For safety reasons, we will no longer accept requests for prescriptions over the telephone.

When you wish to renew a prescription, these can be ordered using the following methods:

NHS App

Owned and run by the NHS, the NHS App is a simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services on your smartphone or tablet.

You can also access NHS App services from the browser on your desktop or laptop computer.

Order on-line 

The easiest way to order your repeat medication is to order online.  Registration is required by completing a simple one-off registration.  You can find the registration forms via our “patient on line” page.

We also offer EPS (Electronic Prescription Service) – Your prescription is sent electronically to a pharmacy of your choice.  All you have to do is nominate a pharmacy.

Posting the repeat tear of slip in the box provided at Reception

If you prefer, please tick the items required on the order sheet and then put it in the dedicated box by the front entrance, or post it to the practice. If you would like us to post it back to you, please enclose a stamped self-addressed envelope.

Chemist Collection and Delivery Service

If you are housebound, you may wish to talk to your local chemist as many of them will now pick up your prescription from our surgery and deliver the medication to your home.  Please note, there may be a charge for this service.

Don’t Run Out…

It is necessary to give us at least 2 working days notice and it helps to give us a few days’ notice. Don’t let yourself run out of medicine! If you need your medication early because you are going on holiday, please inform us. Simply write a short note on your request i.e. ‘need early for holidays’
