We have been notified of a supply disruption in relation to blood tube products. In light of global shortages, the recommendations below have been provided by clinical experts.

•𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗼𝗻-𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 (𝗻𝗼𝗻-𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁) 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴

Only tests deemed clinically urgent for patients can and will be carried out, as such we will not be booking routine appointments for annual reviews or routine blood testing, unless assessed by a clinician.

These recommendations have been agreed by a clinical reference group with advice from professional bodies covering a wide spectrum of clinical specialties. Actions are being taken at a national level with work ongoing via the NHS Supply Chain to seek to resolve the supply disruption.

It is important to make clear that tests that have/will be deferred will be carried out in the future where appropriate. All routine tests that have/will be deferred will only be as such where it is clinically safe to do so.
