Cervical screening project on the Newcastle Community Health Bus

This week the Community Health bus has been out delivering a brand-new service and pilot in collaboration with the Northern Cancer Alliance, Healthworks Newcastle, Gateshead NHS Foundation Trust and NHS England.

The bus has been used to provide cervical screening to women in our community, targeting the Inner West Newcastle area.

Clinics will be run every Wednesday and Saturday for the next three months, staffed by nurses from the NGPS Flexipool team, alongside others from the partner organisations running the project.

Health checks in the community will still be carried out on the bus the rest of the week by the NGPS nursing team and pharmacy students from Newcastle University’s School of Pharmacy – for more details see the Community Health page on our website.
